Morales’ Basement

This suburban project turned a blank canvas into a livable environment for a young family who wanted spaces for storage, bar, working out, an office, children's play space, living room, and a walkout. Strong angles and a curvy interior core were used, along with translucent curtains, to define the public and private spaces. Two large fins bounce sunlight into the space, while tiling both inside and out help the two environments converge. The fins even double as storage and create privacy for the office. A translucent stair wall with floating bar further works to open up and lighten this otherwise dark basement.
