Queen’s Basement

A growing family needed to create extra space out of their unfinished basement. DII helped turn this into a real entertainer’s space by creating a oversized bar/kitchenette, game table area, built in surround sound and projection screen, kids‘ play area, bathroom, and separate office. A grand splaying staircase brings you into the room, which is enhanced by the unique ceiling and lighting design. Translucent polycarbonate light diffusers counterbalanced other dimmable lights to create both a functional and versatile lighting scheme. The bar and shelving tie in with the same material. A rich cork flooring was used for high traffic and water tolerance.
