Jamison Loft: fireplace & balcony

This 2-story downtown loft needed a fireplace that wouldn't be dwarfed by its expansive heights. The semi-retired clients had an artistic modern flair and worked with DII to create a soaring 20' custom fireplace, complete with storage solutions, a quartz hearth, which doubles as extra seating. The recycled steel skin of the fireplace and the 14' flue sheathed in eco-resin panels counter-balance well. Tapered angles counter the height of the piece so it doesn't feel overbearing. A balcony and railing fabricated of like materials pull the entire space together architecturally.
